Best Smart-Phone all things considered
4 of 4 found this helpful Since the iPhone has that dumb-dumb arrangement with one carrier only (not mine!!) I have chosen the Palm Treo series numerous times now upgrading every 2 years. I now have the last in the series: The discontinued Palm Centro. This is my favorite to date for a number of reasons. 1st off, the Palm OS is the most intuitive of any that i've tried. I absolutely despise the Windows Mobile Operating system. I'm an experienced computer tech and all I can say is Windows OS on a phone was the dumbest execution ever implemented. Ridiculously buggy and absurdly counterintuitive. Now... back to the Centro. You couldn't ask for more free apps than what are available with this thing. It is just plain awesome. Sure there are many phones out there now with gorgeous screens and all... but nothing compares to the versatility and ease of use than the trusty, tried-and-true Palm Centro. It is the smallest Treo series smartphone ever made and Palm should've continued along with improvements instead of ones like the Pre. If you get an unlimited data plan... this is the phone for you if you don't mind having a smaller sized screen as its only drawback. By the way, I would recommend one suite of programs you should pay for though with this phone to make MUCH better use of all the phone's features and also to cut down on any problems (HEY, it still is really a mini computer... and virtually all versatile machines like this eventually need to be "rebooted".) The suite is from HobbyistSoftware and is called the "TreoTastic bundle". Trust me, this is a must have for this phone. I have no ties to this company btw. Cheers!...and have fun with it! -Will
