Do we have a choice?
Boy has the price gone up on these! If I’d known this was coming I would bought a hundred back when they were $40. It’s like the stock market.
Seriously though, I love my Solos. STILL. And I want equally to love this gimbal. Honestly though it’s difficult to do so. Having owned close to a half dozen of these with only one fully working unit left , Ive come to the conclusion that there must be some inherent design flaws, or perhaps it’s just not protected enough. It’s been a long time since I had a hard landing and even longer since an out and out crash, but new flyers starting out will learn quickly that even the mildest of bumbs can send one of these gimbals into spasms if your lucky. If you’re not, they will break. Easily. So my First word of advice is if you’re just starting out flying leave the gimbal off. Learn to fly manually and particularly how to land. Can you get that down add the gimbal. When it’s working it works beautifully. When combined with the 3-DR solo controller and a good Ground Station app the shot options are limitless. And it Will deliver top grade cinematic footage. Albeit not like a RED camera will...but definitely usuable professional grade footage. I’m hoping that with the advent of OPEN SOLO and the evolution of ardupilot , green cube etc . that soon we will have other gimbal options available. but in the meantime this is the only choice we have. Or is it?

Works well and with Multiple brands/protocols
works on JJRC , tarantula and wLToys. That's great bc I don't have to lug around three different controls. It's not super sturdy so avoid rough handling and be careful when you store it or transport it.
