Plush and cossetting
Cossetting, plush ear pads that are a nice change to the regular HD25 pads. The fit is excellent too. It's worth noting, they don't come with the foam speaker cover - I found that was the bit that had rotted away on my old pads.
These are softer on the ear than the standard pads, and I was sceptical about how much noise they would reduce, but was very happy by the results - in combination with the mass loading and dampening kit, these do cut out noticeably more extraneous noise, at least when monitoring/recording sound on location.
I've not had them long enough to say how long they will last [again cheek stubble] but so far the alcantara seems fin - lets hope the protein leather holds up too.

Ranging reticle makes for more fun than a normal monocular
1 of 1 found this helpful The ranging reticle makes this monocular so much more fun to use than a normal monocular. I was hesitant about getting the Vortex Solo RT's over the normal Solo monocular, but I'm so glad I did. You can gauge a distance pretty accurately, very easily. The eye relief and exit pupil, together with the coated optics, quick focus, and ideal focal range for a short monocular (to avoid shake) are all brilliant. The eye cup helps too. The case is better than often mentioned online, as I think Vortex probably took the criticism onboard and made changes. I'm surprised how much pleasure this monocular has given me, and I'm even more surprised that I still really enjoy calculating distances using the ranging reticle.
