Worth every penny, great feeling , larger size vs the competition
Hearing about this product along with bunch of others on youtube i purchased the MD100 #100 grit model. So i already knew this model would be nice and its wonderful . I did try another brand for my lower grit stone but i had to get this one , its just worth the extra cost imho. The feel is very nice , great feedback and fast cutting. Originally the primary reasons i opted for the Suehiro Debado model line was the huge surface area to work with and it being a " splash and go" , no soaking required , just splash some water on top and your good. All of the MD series Debado stones are extra large. The LD Debado series are also a bit less expensive but normal / smaller size aside from that the LD and MD are the same in case that helps anyone.
These stones are a bit more costly then other products i considered , however not that much more cost then comparable products such as the Naniwa Chosera line. I decided the benefits are worth the cost for these stones , I will be using for a very long time. These stones will last many years. When you average out how long these stones last slow wearing and just over an inch thick , I think it helps make the decision to purchase easier. The included Nagura stone does well cleaning it without much effort. Suehiro sells larger ones which is a good idea and i purchased to make my life easier. The blueish/green colour is appealing and allows you to see what effect your having on the knife your working with. 10/10 .
I included some unboxing type pics as part of this review.

Best low-cost quality Japanese splash and go
This is probably your best option for most sharpening related tasks, comes with a convenient storage case that is also a stone holder and it works well. One of the better out of the box ready to go experiences. Some people question the cost of these stones, they are incredibly dense, slow wearing with pleasant feedback. They are a number of super cheap, highly rated stones sold on places like Amazon, they are manufactured in a couple places in China and sold under different names, mostly with glossy marketing only, they just don't compare to a quality stone like this one that is a slow wearing, splash and go with really nice cutting performance. A stone like this will last someone many, many years making them very cost-effective in the long-term. popular with woodworkers for their performance and durability. This stone performs best when it's surface is conditioned , with a diamond plate or leveling stone before first use. It isn't 100% required and will resolve itself through normal use. It's just a surface that is a result of the manufacturing process. A single stone like this is plenty to give someone incredibly sharp results. Most people for some reason pick up something super cheap, usually a combo stone... I don't really care for the extra maintenance involved for combo stones, The cost savings are minimal and doesn't allow you to pick out a progression of your liking. Everyone would save themselves a bit of a headache, some frustration and money purchasing something quality like at this stone and other quality Japanese options starting out.

Probley best all arounder , durable, dense splash and go that will last you years and make your life easier
These are wonderful stones, very dense and durable stones with amazing feeling and feedback , I have the 400 and the 800 Chosera models, of various stones i have i use these two the most. Everyone i have shared experiences with , agree the scratch pattern for the 800 is very similar to other brands 1K stones. The extra cutting speed with the 800 models is wonderful , great balance of cutting vs nice scratch pattern. I recommend the 400 and 800 Chosera/Professional models the most for anyone that asks me. I've noticed online people question the price tag for these, genuinely really not that bad considering they will last a VERY long time, many years even with regular use. One of my favorite under rated features is the super easy cleanup , removing buildup with almost no effort , wiping down with some water washes away most of it , combined with a quick treatment with a rust eraser , ready for storage in 60 seconds.
The only issue I've heard from others is you have super hard, really advanced steels mostly with EDC knives, like 66-67 HRC kind of stuff, you might have some burnishing, it's pretty easy to sort that out, using the included Nagura stone. I have never had this issue , even with R2/ SG2 , Molybdenum stainless steel and anything else i have sharpened. i have been told only happens with 66 or 67 HRC super steels. I do have a Naniwa DX Gouken Kurouto 1000 soaking stone , i dont really require it i guess, but its just a "nice to have" type of thing and good excuse to have a soaking stone which i enjoy sometimes. The diamond plate i use for leveling my stones is also a nice to have type of thing but not really " required" .
I follow the recommendations from Naniwa and I keep all my stones in my home office since it has the least amount of sunlight and most consistent ambient temperature. I will be storing my stones in a Japanese toolbox but currently I store all of my stones vertically lined up in a repurposed bamboo dish drying rack , which saves on storage space , helps prevent accidental damage and allows them to dry.
