7.5v OH-075V0500T Philips DAB Radio AE5200/05 power supply adapter mains uk plug

Revived Philips AE4800/05) to full working order again.
Revived an old favourite (and sadly now obsolete) work DAB radio (Philips AE4800/05) to full working order again. Pros I appreciate the right-angle fitting design, as the cable is far less likely to be damaged in my case (the original powerpack was damaged due to it being a straight connector, which was was accidentally bent and over-flexed over time). I have now neatly duct-taped the cable to the body of the radio to prevent any similar potential damage in future. The design also allows replacing the tip connector so should that become damaged, you can simply replace it (which costs pennies), and also allows you to use on other similarly volted/amped appliances you may have that require different connector-head sizes. I cannot vouch for longevity as I have only used it for a few weeks, but it appears to be sturdily built. Cons: There is no iron/ferrite bead on the cable unfortunately, which I thought would be standard for radio/audio equipment powerpacks to prevent electrical interference (and it is actually present on the photographs, but not the item itself) but this does not appear to affect signal quality at all in my case (a Philips AE4800/05 model)- perfect quality sound with no electrical interference. However you may have different results depending on your appliance (as others here have noted). The cable is approximately 1 meter long which some may find too short for them, but is fine for my purposes. Conclusion- For for the cost, compared to that of purchasing a new radio (this model of radio is sadly now obsolete and I've grown quite fond of it), or the cost of using batteries (that drain very quickly), it is good value, and so it was a simple decision to just buy one. I've saved money and revived an old favourite radio as a result so I'm very pleased with the purchase. I've rated it 4/5 only due to the fact it lacks the iron/ferrite bead as is shown in the photographs, which initially worried me. And that has actually caused interference issues for some users as others have stated earlier. And a longer cable would provide more options to where you can place the radio. But for me, these have not been problems, so if you use the same model radio I rate it 5/5 stars.
