ABUS Ultra 410 + Loop Cable - Great protection for your Bicycle
I read reviews on cables and u locks as I am riding my bike again. The result was that cables are pretty ineffective for those who want to steal a bike quickly. Those who steal regularly will take your bike no matter what you have secured your bike with.
I needed something that would put off a "casual" thief but wasn't too heavy to carry in my back pack. On reading, the Abus Ultra 410 U Lock with the 1.2m steel cable seemed ideal. With it I could lock the bike to a pole or fence with the u lock and connect the front wheel (quick release wheel) with the steel cable. It seemed the ideal solution. And it was quite light compared to most good quality u locks. The system weighs 1.29kg. It was Engineered and, I think, made in Germany.
I live in Australia and bought the product from England. The total cost for me was about A$44.
I have used the lock since then and it is ideal for my purpose. The bright green makes it stand out and says "I am serious in protecting this bike".
There was only one problem. With my two bikes, the frames would not allow me to attach the lock holder as the frames were too thick. So I have to carry in my back pack.
Another smaller problem is the size of the u lock. It is not wide enough to go around trees but I can always find a fence of pole near my destination. The length of the u lock means your bike has to be very close to the pole or fence, but that hasn't been a problem for me. But these are due to it being a lighter product with good security.
I can highly recommend this product to those who need a good locking system to secure their bikes.

Brilliant suspenseful drama involving computer crime.
