Not the best lens but good enough for starting out on a budget.
Not the best zoom lens in this sort of range but made a great starter lens with a Canon EOS 10D purchase from Ebay. I have a Canon T90 and wanted to try a quality Canon digital camera, albeit a very early one. Just a shame I cannot use my FD lenses on it.
I would recommend this lens as they can be picked up at good prices on Ebay etc, works fine and give a reasonable focal range after factoring in the 1.6 crop factor. Unlike the Sigma 100-300 zoom I also purchased shortly afterwards which introduced me to err 99, something all Canon starters in digital need to be aware of when buying an old, pre-digital, autofoces lens.

Cheap but it fits and works.
This adapter has just enough of an inner flange to depress the auto aperture pin on the two M42 lenses I have tried. This makes using the lenses easier than an adapter without a flange which requires the pin to be fixed in it's depressed state to enable stopping the lens down.
M42 lenses that have auto-manual switches built in to them will not require the flange.
Some lenses may have the stop down pin outside the flange but this has not been the case with mine.

Pentax AF Camera
Bought this for the lens really but the camera is a great bonus. Though I have yet to put a film through it because I have 2 Canon film cameras on the go already, I feel confident that it will perform well and wearing it with a neck strap will be so much better than the Canon EOS 10D I have that with a long zoom lens is so heavy I have bought a sling shoulder strap to suspend it from.
Pentax cameras seem to be a little smaller and sometimes lighter than most other makes in their respective classes, without being any the worse for it. Perhaps better!
