Hotter than Hell
I have a set of these in a guitar I kept from being thrown out by a big chain store. They are hot, they are bright and they have great tonal clarity. No muddy sounding chords with these. Rhythm playing brings out nice bass and leads cut through easily. Being 4 wire pickups means you can turn off 1 coil and get a nice LOUD single coil tone. not the underpowered tone resulting from doing this on "standard output" humbuckers Basically IMHO these are Super Distortion Inspired which makes them good for everything from modern country, blues and classic rock to Most Metal and Hard rock as well. I paid $30 for these about 2 years ago and I play that guitar every day with a smile. Are these perfect? No, There are reasons these aren't $200 a set but for the price those differences are minor and mostly end up serving to help differentiate them from those they are inspired by which is a good thing because it's what allows them to sound so good and be so reasonably priced

Lead options galore
I bought this pickup while looking for an easy way to gain tonal options in a guitar with 1 pickup and 1 knob. This little baby delivers that in spades. This "single" pickup is actually a pretty high output bridge single coil and a comparable output mini dual rail humbucker (measured per coil.) These are mounted on a single standard humbucker plate with their own separate wiring, (the 'bucker is 4 wire the single coil is 2 wire.) It is a quality product and the company provides downloadable wiring diagrams for the "basic" and "ultimate" options.
I had this installed in a B.C. Rich bronze series 1 humbucker, 1 volume control, wrap around bridge equipped guitar. I paired it with a single 500k concentric dual volume/tone pot, the proper capacitor, and a 3 way on/on/on switch wired single/both/hum ( the "basic" wiring ). both of these individually seem designed as bridge position pickups on their own. This sounds perfect on paper but in practice this means the tonal options are all going to be on the brighter side. This is fine for this guitar as its sole purpose is supposed to be playing lead. I also found that on this particular pickup I was getting significant volume dropoff on the high E and B strings. I fixed this by lowering the bass side (a lot) and raising the treble side (a lot). It's most likely a flaw in this particular pickup. I'm not worried about it. but this and the fact that the pickup can be a bit too shrill are the reasons my rating is 4 stars not 5. BTW the "ultimate" wiring uses 3 switches and results in 10 tonal options. It may also be able to come up with more. as for the tones, they range from strat/tele twang/quack to a more rounded yet still very bright lead to a blend of the 2. Along with a good tone knob that works well throughout its dialing range (or a different capacitor?) some really nice tones capable of cutting thru the low end become available. I like the concept and design of this pickup and at 1/2 the price of the big name guys even after being shipped from England i'll be buying more of their pickups in the future for sure.

I am already planning on buying another one.
1 of 1 found this helpful As someone who uses a lot of external storage I've developed high standards but portability was never a need until the xbox one came into my life with it's ability to use a handful of games to eat up its own storage capacity like a glutton at an all you can eat buffet. Knowing Toshiba makes good quality products I picked this up and I am impressed. It is tiny, a little larger than a mans wallet. It fits easily in the palm of my hand. Once hooked up to my xbox I was able to sideload 300GB of game data to the portable HDD and clean out the Xbox storage in around 20 minutes manually moving them over 1 at a time. The largest file was almost 70GB and only took a couple of minutes to move. I'm sure because it's game data, the Xbox does more to check that the data is not corrupted during transfer than would happen on a desktop or laptop so I would expect faster performance when hooked up to a USB 3.0 port on either of those devices. Since this HDD spins at only 5400 rpm's there may be faster 1TB portable HDD's but the faster spin speed comes at a higher price for sure and the gains may only end up being marginal. This unit is small enough to fit in my pocket, it's well built, and it's fast enough to store the entire contents of a standard home desktop in just a few minutes. For less than $50 shipped to my door?... SOLD!
