Fantastic Value German AGM Battery.
This AGM battery is fantastic value, the Advanced Glass Mat technology offers increased current discharge, deeper charge cycles and enhanced service life when compared to traditional lead acid.. originaly developed in the 80's for military aircraft, they have now been adopted into automotive applications mainly due to the increasing demands of stop-start engines. I've just replaced my freelander2 battery which was 8 years old (factory fitted) and this is quite typical for AGM.
The German AGM batteries retail between £200 - 300 list price and can be discounted to £150. So I was sceptical of the listing and expected old stock which was manufactured 2-5 years ago, which would still be usable for the right price, albiet passed its best for "new" condition.
The battery arrived in original OEM packaging, 2017 date code which is well within storage guidelines and tested at full voltage.
The size is UK:115, (aporox.315mm long), 80Ah and with a high cold cranking amps of 800A. Suitable for many mid size SUVs, freelander2, Evoque and also many others like BMW X3.
This could be a worth while upgrade even for non stop -start engines just for the extra service life and performance.
