Powerful and tragic
A superb book bringing to life the story of the forgotten the immense suffering of this injured in the field of battle. The story follows the tragedy of the development of. Medical services to the beginning of cosmetic surgery to the strains of mental suffering.
Wounderfully told it keeps the reader rooted with the indivudal as well as the whole.
I have learnt so much more about the war and the futility and honour of the participants.

Fab book about the first world war and what happened from both a soldier's personal accounts and historical documents, brings the people to life
One of the series of books by Lyn Mc donald all are great informative and compelling. would gladly reccomend.
