Jazz greats used as actors: Beatnic-jazz-bohemia! A+++
I've enjoyed this movie since I was 8 years old in the late 1960's when it would be shown on TV's late night matinee. It's teething with industries jazz greats used as actors. Even Louis Armstrong had a big role using a pseudo name. When Sammy Davis, Jr. got the role he spent one full year learning how to play trumpet to give the film added realism and credibility. Not a dull moment filled with great jazz music played by the best in the business. Sammy, as Adam Johnson, does an amazing death scene at the end. "A Man Called Adam" has been in moratorium for nearly 2 decades (probably due to so many famous people involved in its making). Remastering and packaging was expertly and respectfully done. And if that ain't enough, the dvd comes with a bonus cd with one song from the film and 5 other greats that only a big dummy would not enjoy.

No need to miss those Sat. am cartoons of 40 years ago!
Wackey Races, the complete series in one dvd package. Are youy over 40 and miss all those great Saturday morning cartoons? Well, grab your cup of coffee, a bowl of Captin' Crunch and your favorite amusement aid and start living in the past. This was when art, heart and soul was involved in making Saturday morning interesting. Don't forget to look for all those double-sided jokes inserted purposely for audult entertainment, too!

Not just best Wainwright cd, but best cd I ever heard!
What a poet! Louden Wainwright III keep my attention while I chuckle non-stop at his truthful satire. From John Lennon to Tonia Harding. There's something topical for everyone to relate to and laugh at things in life that other people will allow to bring them down. If this is you 1st exposure to Louden, you'll be inspired to get all of his recordings.
