Read This Book - thank a soldier/vet

This is such a compelling story - untold in any other places that we know of. My husband and I listened to it on a couple trips. The brutal treatment of foot soldiers, sent into this battle when the leaders knew they could not succeed - breaks your heart. It's told with such detail, naming names of those involved. Hampton Sides is a genius of research. Along with others of his books like Ghost Soldiers and now we're going to read Kingdom of Ice - look forward to more detailed, but totally interesting writing.

Well done

This movie leaves me feeling happy - it's humorous - the singing is great - and the story compelling. Plus it has a happy ending - I know that may be old-fashioned - but done well, happy endings are very good. Not pat endings, but those that fit in with the story seamlessly.
