Incredible resource for dog owners and trainers.
This book is filled with tons of different photos showing all sorts of canine body language. Along with the photos are explanations of what you are physically seeing and what's going on in the dog's mind and behaviorally. In many cases the author shares backstory of the dog(s) in the photo offering even more insight into what you are seeing. Everything from play, greetings, fear, aggression, working, guarding, calming signals, signs of stress and more are covered. The only downside to this book is that the photos are not in color. Even so, it's a wonderful resource for any dog owner.

Perfectly paced to learn PS CS4's capabilities and how to make use of them.
I use Photoshop just about daily for web graphics and do fairly well knowing just the basics, but I do wind up doing a lot of things by hand that I could manage MUCH quicker by taking advantage of PhotoShop's built-in features. This book is just what I was looking for. It's not so simple as to be a waste of money, nor is it so complicated and bursting with detail that it makes my head want to explode. Each lesson and each chapter builds upon the previous one at a reasonable pace. Enough to keep you engaged, but not overwhelming at all. Just the first couple of chapters mention some basic, simple features that I didn't know about but will make much of what I do that much simpler.
Pros: Good pace, valuable info, comes with a CD with graphics to use in the lessons.
Cons: New copy at retail is expensive (but there are many used copies at reasonable prices).

Prentice Hall Writing English Grammar 6th 7th Grade 6 7
I have to admit, I love textbooks anyway, but this is a great one to brush up on the grammar and writing skills you've forgotten since school days. Easy book geared toward 6th and 7th grade, but it nicely covers the basics of sentence structure, writing types and styles, parts of speech and diagramming sentences. Every writer should have something like this on hand just for reference. Did I mention you can often find older textbooks here on ebay for dirt cheap?
