Needs grip texture on sides.
Good. But... Why can't they add grippy texture on the sides. Without the grippy texture on the sides it is as useless as any of them :(

Sharpest enthuziast camera
This is not my first nikon P7700. Before that i had P7800 - switched from it to P7700 because the viewfinder is of no use on such camera. Then a friend talked me to ditching it for Fuji XQ2. It was such a dumb move on my part. After playing for just a bit with XQ2 i understood that i miss my P7700 SO MUCH. I really don't care that it doesn't have the biggest sensor or brightest lens. The controls on it are so so so logical. And did i tell you how sharp it is ? Nothing i have had has been able to beat the crispness of the picture of P7700 (by nothing i mean : D7000, D5100, D3300, D90, RX100M2, XQ2, GF2).
I know it is old, i know it is bulky, but i love it for what it gives you as a result. Combined with EyeFi SD card it is such a joy to use. The battery lasts forever (it has the same battery as D3300 and D5100). The grip is superb - i don't use any straps because it feels so secure in my hands. The tilting screen gives you the angle for the picture like a king. The built in ND complements my extra ND and CPL filters (attached via small 40,5-52mm adapter). The flash knows how to command speedlights. The Creative Monochrome effect is so addictive.
In time i know i will be tempted to switch to some newer camera, but after a few lessons with camera switching i know i will leave this as my second camera forever.
It is such a good enthusiasts camera !

I like the grip and protection it provides. The looks are just ok.
