Pricey, but effective.
I am not up for harming hedgehogs, but at the same time, I am keen to grow veg of my own. It is hard to strike a balance, yet this product allows for that. It is very clearly repelling the slugs and washes into the soil when it rains, feeding the plants - so it is a double whammy in that regard. The applicator means that you don't need much to cover a decent area, I tend to place it around the base of each plant, creating a protective ring, and that is working well. Yes, it might be a bit annoying that it washes away, but then, this summer has been wetter, last year it would have lasted far longer - when you reapply it, it gives you an opportunity to see how well it is doing, so there are upsides! I like it, I recommend it, I just hope it doesn't get much more expensive as the lure of cheaper alternatives remains ever present.

A lacklustre performance
Disappointing device; simple setup, but made little or no difference.

Plastic, not glass.
It is described as a magnifying reading glass and yet, it is flimsy plastic. It is perfectly adequate for what it is, but it isn't glass and for that reason I give it 3 stars.
