Oxford Diecast 76TRAC004 Fordson Tractor Matt Grey
30 May, 2019
Nice model of a classic tractor in 1/76 scale
The overall impression is good especially the diecast castings , but I would not describe the finish as matt, more a sort of satin so it will need a coat of DullCoat to look like a working tractor. Some of the plastic castings are a bit chunky - the steering wheel is the most obvious, and I may replace it with something etched brass before it goes on the layout. On the whole though its good for the price, useable as is, with options to enhance. Buy again - yes.
KATO 'N' GAUGE 7009 DF50 DIESEL LOCOMOTIVE

Runs like a Swiss watch.
Kato's N scale locos are renowned for running like the proverbial Swiss watch, and this is no exception. This purchase was my second Kato DF50 diesel, this time in a later livery. All paint and printing is excellent.
Alternative couplers and a nice selection of fine detail parts like air whistle, grabs and number boards included (get your magnifying glass and tweezers out to install them though).
New examples in UK/Europe can be pricy so buy used, or buy new direct from Japan.
Heki 1679 Pile de Feuilles 28 X 14 cm Weidegrün Neuf

Heki flora netting
The Heki foliage netting is some of the best foliage available for model trees. It's not the cheapest, but it's worth the extra money. It gives the light and airy look of many species of natural trees. Tear small pieces off and tease it out, before gluing to your chosen armature with PVA. You can fix further with spray glue if you need to. There are several colours available, the light green (shown in the photo is good for new growth on birch and aspen), mid green and willow green are the most useful. Only downside is that it's very messy when installing - it sheds loads of the cellulose leaves, so work over a box to collect the shed "leaves" for further use.
