Exactly What we Needed
Works great. We ordered ours unseasoned because we eat 100% organic so we seasoned it with organic Sunflower Oil. It seasoned perfectly. We used it on a Waring Hot Plate and used a Best Waffle Ever Recipe. They came out perfect. We used a #3 heat setting, I need to measure temperature but they came out golden brown on this setting. We used a 30 second warm up on one side, filled the waffle maker, secured ring, baked 1 minute for that side flipped and cooked 1 minute 40 seconds second side, we will increase to 2 minutes second side next time for more crispness. You need to experiment but you will get a perfect waffle. The reason we wanted this unit is it was made in America, no non-stick coating, sturdy made, we use all cast iron, makes a good size waffle and the price is very reasonable compared to the antique ones. You need to practice and season it well if you get it non-seasoned. After first use it will be all set for perfect waffles every time. Now if we could get the waffle dog makes made out of cast iron we'd have it made!

Been buying these for years, all Vitamin levels are above average now.

Variable Speed Control or Dremel/Craftsman
Seems to work fine, it doesn't have the full range of speed but I don't remember if the first one did either. I will buy a few spares just in case, for the price you can't argue.
