Gave me what I was looking for!
4 of 5 found this helpful I named it my "Grizzly Hunting Lens" and that it did. On my most recent trip to Glacier National Park, this lens helped me catch photos of 3 Grizzlies, one at almost 1000 yards and still have images that were usable. Closer up, photos of mountain goats and bighorn sheep, the photos were sharp and the Bokeh was great. I'm still learning how to use it to the best of its capabilities, but I'm thrilled to have it.

Good overall, walk-around lens but not good in low-light.
6 of 13 found this helpful I'm satisfied overall with this lens, it's sharp, the images are clear for the most part but when zoomed in all the way to 300mm it's not perfectly sharp. It's not good in low-light because of the 3.5 maximum aperture but you have to know what you are getting. If you shoot with ISO 600-800 you'll be fine with the low-light but the image quality suffers just a bit. Not happy with the focus noise of the lens when making a video in continual auto-focus. That's just obnoxious.
