Weighs less, carries more
Long term pelican user. Astronomy. Search and Rescue. Amateur Radio. "Supplies.
I like all of the Pelican products I've used, but I am especially pleased with the "Air" series.
Much lighter than the standard series. OK, it may not survive a tank running over it, but
for me that is a welcome tradeoff for the lighter weight.

Perfect accessory for your Bird 43
The Bird 43 lets you change connectors quickly to suit your measurement needs. The vendor is top notch too. Also consider the unidapt versions

Convenient, portable, and a great value
OK, this is "just a board" with no case. I'll admit I was skeptical, but the price is good, so maybe it would be good "for indication only". Also note there are no instructions (but you can find those on the web).
Like other bridges, you need to get the cabling to your tracking generator and spectrum analyzer, as well as your precision 50 ohm terminator. (Obviously the quality of those devices effect your measurements.)
In my case I used M-M SMA connectors to SignalHound tracking generator and spectrum analyzer, with a mini circuits 50 ohm reference.
I was amazed at the results. From memory, this worked fine to 30 dB or so return loss to 500 MHz, and reasonable beyond that. The SignalHound combination measures return loss on its own -- and agrees within a dB of so of this bridge.
For context, I am not an NSIT certified lab, but, perhaps like you, I've acquired some gear that was $$$$ when it was new in the 90s.
Very happy with the purchase.
