Another on the road to greatness.
Coming as it did after their untitled 4th album, this was always going to be a challenge for the band to equal the greatness of the 4th, containing such tracks as Rock n Roll, When the Levee Breaks and, of course, Stairway,
While not quite getting there, there are still some excellent moments such as The Rain Song, Over the Hills and Far Away and the storming The Song remains the Same.
All in all a very worthwhile addition to the collection as they warm up for Physical Graffiti.

A tour de force from a literary giant,
Bought this to replace the original I had,
It's a book that I think should be in everyone's collection.
Loosely based on the life of Somerset Maugham it begins midway through WW1 and finishes late 1970's encompassing many features of the time, rise of the Third Reich for instance.
The main plot is a priest who he is related to through marriage and later becomes Pope,
The protagonist is the asked by the Vatican to go back through his life and give them information that could lead to beatification of the now deceased Pope.
