2nd round
First purchase of one of these models burned up by a class of 3rd graders within a couple weeks. The 2nd one purchased has been under their heavy use for a handful of months and still holding strong. Better sharpener (nice fine point) than anything I bought locally so I threw mine away and bought a third of the same model for my kids to use at home. Newer sharpeners kept breaking the lead but this vintage model rarely does.

Vintage Bound for school
1 of 1 found this helpful My son’s school teacher had her second electric pencil sharpener busted three months into the school year. She reached out to parents in frustration. Sadly, the school wasn’t fond of me installing a vintage, manual Boston KS I know from younger years! Knowing the electric model I’ve used at home is junk, it made for a bit of research on the web. I found Panasonic to be the alpha dog of electrics from the 70s/80s period so to eBay I went for a KP-110.
Test run of the vintage machine is a superb sharpener that made my nine yr old’s eyes light up. Even the lesser quality pencils aren’t getting the lead broken by this machine. Today I dropped off the vintage KP-110 for some heavy use by a classroom of 3rd graders. Hoping it lasts at least a few years for the teacher and just bought a 2nd vintage KP-110 off eBay to replace the sharpener in my home office after being impressed by the test run.
