Nice finish and keeps your crawler tires from developing flat spots.
The stand comes unassembled but goes together easily, just be careful to align the adhesive rubber pads. The fit and finish are quite acceptable, especially at this price point.
The cut-outs in the pads came in quite handy and I used four of the circular pieces as "feet" for the stand. The stand supports my TRX-4 quite nicely though the tires are very close to the table making turning the model more tricky than it would have been with extra clearance. It would be nice if the manufacturers would make a slightly taller version for RC crawlers though I tend to use the stand far more often as storage for the model.
The included measurement markings are quite handy for checking screw lengths and the holes in the top plate can be used for holding shock absorber bodies during rebuilds.

A good cheap buck converter but overrated at 3A without a decent heatsink
1 of 1 found this helpful The LM2596 adjustable converter is an inexpensive, compact and convenient way of providing various voltages for your electronics projects. The 50V input capacitor on this board is good as you can use 36V input but I have seen boards with caps rated at 36V which means that you should not use more than a 24V supply. The soldering on the boards is okay.
I generally run these at up to 1A and even though the chip is rated for a maximum of 3A I would suggest that a decent heatsink and even active cooling be used at more than 1.5A to maintain the chip's longevity.
When first setting the voltage it sometimes takes a lot of turns on the potentiometer to start reducing the voltage. Once you have reached the desired output voltage it is quite easy to fine tune the output with the multi-turn pot.

Works well.
The wire sponge is a little bulkier than the original Hakko which it replaced but it can still be squeezed into the Hakko stand.
It works as well as the original, possibly because it is packed into the stand. A couple of quick pokes is usually all it takes to get a nice clean tip ready for wetting with fresh solder.
