Great cartridge at a sensible price
My last three cartridges have been AT OC9s , priced at £460 GBP now. The last one failed , from what I can see the tip had fallen off, not been physically damaged. They offered me 1/3 rd off a new one, so it would still cost 300 GBP.
I looked around, and found some god reviews of the Denon, and instead of £ 225 from amazon I got it from here at £175 .
It is brilliant, it is a MC cartridge but it is high output so works on a MM input, which is great , I can now sell my mm to mc amplifier.
The sound is wonderful, it seems to play older records much biter that the AT , surface noise oven on old ( 50 year old ) records, is so low , and any scratches that the AT would shout out, are subdued, yet all the detail is there.
I found it hard to think I have felt the need to spend what I have with Audio Tecnica over the years when Denon seem to make a superior product at less than half the price, plus I didn't need to pay over £ 300 for the extra amplifier.
I have been fooled by Hi Fi snobbery and Denon have proved it.
