Blown to Smithereens

Of all the bands I wish I could've seen live at their peak, The Smithereens top the list. The perfect mix of intimate sentimentality and driving, anthemic rock, with a side-order of '60s bubblegum. Standout tracks here are Drown In My Own Tears, Only A Memory and House We Used To Live In. As an album, Green Thoughts maybe falls a little short of the flawless Especially For You but it's better than anything else you'll hear. If you've missed out on The Smithereens, do yourself a favour and take a listen. You will not be disappointed.
