AGA Whistling Kettle Spare Whistle (W1878)

Need to sort out the whistle

The whole problem is the whistle - which is kind of important for a whistling kettle. It is hard to hear from outside the kitchen; it gets so hot you need a cloth to hold it; and it's made of some kind of plastic so when once the kettle boiled dry (easy to do if you can't hear the whistle) it melted. My previous kettle cost a tenth as much as this one and its whistle worked perfectly - I should just have got another one of those.
