good quality mechanical skeleton clock
On receipt the two brass pendulum shells had become detached from the lead pendulum. Gluing them back on with super glue was not a problem but it wasn't a good start, reviewers on amazon seemed to have the same problem. Having wound the clock it wouldn't keep going. On inspection this was due to the pendulum rubbing against the front of the clock frame, I used a spirit level and found the surface the clock was on was slightly sloping backwards. A couple of pieces of card under the back legs sorted this problem. There is no way to adjust the level of the clock other than putting things under the feet. The clock then ran and after a couple of weeks of adjusting the length of the pendulum I am happy with the accuracy. I like the ticking sound, the chime every hour is discreet but pleasant. I nearly didn't buy it because of the chime but now i would say it is the thing I like most. All in all I am pleased with it and seems the only option for the price if you want a mechanical skeleton clock.
