Kabar next generation tanto.
This Next-Generation Kabar Tanto knife is made of Sandvik 12C27 steel which is no longer in production. If you find one for sale, buy it for your collection. If you want the best, you won't go wrong with this one. I have two, one for looks and the other for protection and outdoors use. It has never failed me.

Kabar next-generation fighting knife
Kabar's next generation knives are among the best knives out there for usually under $100. The next generation knives made from the mid 90's are made from Sandvik 12C27 steel and were bead blast finish. Later they change to 440A steel with a cheaper coating to lower the cost. Still a great value. I have owned and used all types of Kabar knives. If I had to choose only one knife to own, this would be the one. It should last a lifetime.

Kabar 1221 Next Generation Fighting Knife
The Kabar next-generation fighting knife (model 1221) made in the mid-90's to mid-2000's is an awesome knife. The first couple years the steel was made of Sandvick 12c27 and later 440a. If you tell the difference by the coating of the blade, which 12c27 were powered coated and 440a was like painted darker grey. Great knife for just about for every outdoor task.
