Baratza Encore Conical Burr Coffee Grinder - Black

Your $50 "Burr" grinder isn't the real thing..

So you bought another $50 "Burr" grinder and somehow it's hardly better than your $20 blade grinder? That is because it isn't a true conical burr. This one will deliver consistent grinds. My old Krups machine pretty much didn't yield consistently sized grinds. Coarse grinds yielded cloudy cold brew due to fine particles in with the coarse. This machine on the coarsest setting makes perfect cold brew with almost zero sediment. I used to have filter the cold brew after brewing with the Krups. As the entry model, you get no frills, but excellent performance with the encore. I love that you set the grind on top, so it's easy to see the setting. Hard to forget that you're dialed in for espresso when you are making cold brew, etc. Slower grinding, with no digital display, timer or scale, but works perfectly with your manual control. I only am missing the automatic shut off. Solidly built. Read the manual before using it. Don't too much at a time. Not over the line around two thirds up and it won't jam on you. If you need those other features, get a higher model by Baratza. It's a tank, not a toy. Highly recommended.

When is Norah not terrific? Really enjoyed these after seeing her recently.

The Historic Nashville auditorium with Dolly Parton was a nice fit. If you are a Nora fan, they are must haves.
