1 of 1 found this helpful This game came out 5 years after the first Ridge Racer for the PS1. The evolution is evident in all aspects. It has more tracks, more than 300 cars. It has a mode Grand Prix. You assume the role of a professional racer, choose the initial team and you will trying to climb the career ladder. During your climb you will have new cars to drive. You will be asked by your manager the minimum in each race to be able to proceed. It's a good game mode but can become a bit boring with time, although you will always want to see the new cars which means that you will continue to play.
**Gameplay**: If you are used to racing simulators, you have to do a general cleaning to play your way to be able to take advantage of the R4. But once you realize how to play is awesome and very rewarding. Doing power slides is epic.
**Graphics**: Is a pretty game,very close to Gran Turismo. Has a great lightsourcing, a smooth frame rate, you don't see any frame drop. Tracks are have very detailed textures. The cars aren´t from real models but they look super detailed. Whenever you enter a tunnel turn on the headlights the car is a funny detail. In this aspect, is one of the best racing games for playstation.
**Overall**: It is a game that lends itself perfectly to play when you want to play without worrying about being the fastest or the best. Above all, it's for fun. By the way, pac man car kick ass.
