Typical Alice Sebold Style of Writing
1 of 1 found this helpful I stumbled upon this author while sitting in a Borders Book Store one day. I took a read of page one of "The Lonely Bones" and was hooked. So I also bought "The Almost Moon" as well on ebay and was once again intrigued.
Her style of writing is very fast paced but at the same time I like stories that make you keep reading and not fall asleep. The books plot definately keeps you on your toes that you just can't put it down your in such suspense and makes you start thinking. I did find it a little hard to keep up when the main characters went back and forth between things that occurred in the past to the present throughout the book. Also, I was not too fond of the main characters in this book and the use of foul language and the brief sexual encounters were not exciting. I would have preferred more sticking to the suspense of it all.
An interesting read and finished it in 3 days but could have finished it faster if wanted and a decent ending but was hoping for more. I guess I was comparing it to the fascinating read of her second book "The Lonely Bones" which I thought was a great story and highly recommend that book for sure. Overall, a good page turner book to take on a vacation or read on the plane and will keep you occupied! Enjoy. KRISZTINA
