No violence or strong language was a welcome change.
1 of 1 found this helpful I bought this DVD as I like Mel Gibson.
This is the first film Mel Gibson appeared in, portraying a mentally retarded young man. Many of today's films including those in which Mel stars often contain violence & strong language; so it was a refreshing change to see those aspects absent. Piper Laurie has the lead female role who employs him as a Gardener. It may seem dreary to some but it must be remembered as they say in the film,'He is a few pence short of a Quid'.
