Quad 4x NOS Svetlana SED Winged C 6550/KT88 tubes

SED Winged C 6550's

I have a Dennis Had Inspire SEP amp . I've rolled new production Gold Lion KT 88's, JJ KT-77's and Psvane TI KT 88's, TUNG Sol KT120's. Also tried NOS Tung Sol 6550's. The SED Winged C beats them all . I get a full sound , good power and nice bass . The new production Gold Lion is smoother but lacking compared to the SED's. The Tung Sol KT 120's have power and bass but not as smooth and musical as the Gold Lions . I'm running a single ended pentode and in a more powerful push pull amp , it would be a different sound . But I'm my amp , I prefer the SED's . I've owned the Winged C in 6l6gc and EL 34 too. It's one of my favorite tubes and I'm sorry to see production stop . Try em and stock up before it gets worse .

Telefunken Tektronix 12au7.

I purchased a similar pair after discarding the new production JJ's in my recently purchased Rogue RP-1 preamp . I've rolled RCA JAN 12AU7WA black plates , NOS Mullard , NOS Tungsram, NOS Tesla, NOS Phillips SQ. The Telefunken has the flattest and most open sound . The Phillips are too bright on top and the Mullards are too veiled . I purchased this pair as a spare . I'm running a Dennis Had SEP into Zu Omens . So give the Telefunken a try , you won't be disappointed .

My favorite E88CC

I have Telefunken , Seimens CCa, Mullard and Amperex PQ. Plus Russian and American NOS . I use a single 6922/ECC88/E88CC as a driver in my Dennis Had Inspire . Only the Telefunken is as flat of a frequency response . But the Red Tip Tesla is my absolute favorite with all of my rectifier/ power tube combinations . Not lacking anywhere in the frequency range, just like Telefunken , BUT WITH A MORE LIQUID TONE ! Tube Museum has absolutely perfect condition Tesla's ! What an absolutely SWEET tube this is !Try them , you will not be disappointed.
