The BEST Fighting Game of ALL TIME
Are you ready for it? Well, here goes! Story: ★★★ The story here isn't great, but what do you expect from a fighting game? The main story is basically about a tournament made by a guy named Shao Kahn called Mortal Kombat which was always the Outworld versus Earth. The earth won every time, so naturally, like anyone else would, Shao gets pissed off and starts stealing the souls of everyone on earth. It's up to the earth warriors to save the planet! Graphics: ★★★★★ The graphics are freakin amazing. Especially for the Genesis and SNES. The graphics are identical to its N64 descendant, Mortal Kombat Trilogy, which has four times the bits. There were lots of complaints about the gore and that it influenced children to fight but when you punch someone in the head, 4 gallons of blood does not instantly fly out and then vanish. I think the extreme gore adds a devilish humour to the game which many enjoy. Music & Sound Effects: ★★★★★ The sound effects are exceptionally great in battle. Everyone has about twenty different grunts and cries of pain which is awesome. IMO, the best sound effect in the history of video games is that da da dum sound right before you do a Fatality. The music is perfect for your current location. Play Control: ★★★★★ The play control is fantastic, probably the best for a fighting game. Ever. I like the ability to run (Which completely changed the series). The moves are easy to pull off, but it takes hours of practice to learn to use them at the right time. The combos are another section that distinguished MK3 above the rest. Some are simple. Some only an elite player can pull off. When you think of Mortal Kombat, usually one word people will recognize about is, you guessed it, Fatalities. They can be the same as combos. Easy or hard, it varies. It took me three weeks before I could actually get one to work, but I was only six so cut me some slack. Originality: ★★★★★ This game is one of the first good fighting games ever and has set the standard for others (I'm not sure if MK invented combos or not but it took the combo system to a new level). I know they started the whole finishing move thing and in my eyes, Fatalities will always be the best. Length and Difficulty ★★★★ It doesn't really take that long to beat nor is it difficult. But to be an expert, you're talking a very long, difficult time. It takes a while to memorize all the moves and combos. I got that far but I could never develop any strategies that would work for me. All I ever did was an all-out offensive (which was mashing buttons due to frustration) and I didn't get far. In conclusion, this game is a classic and will forever live on in my memories. I will pass this game down to my children and they too will enjoy it as much as I have. 9.5 / 10, ★★★★.5, A Rating, ★COLLECTIBLE★ Status

Best memories of my early years are with this game
I was not a big fan of Playstation back when Nintendo 64 ruled the roost. But in my very limited collection of games I had for my Playstation, Final Fantasy 9 was the best. I do not know where to begin. This game is beyond legendary status. I often had dreams and fantasies of due to this game. The story is SO engaging or maybe it was for me when I was only twelve. The character development is superb for such an old game. A lot of games today can learn a thing or two from FF9. The battles were amazing and the music -- GOOD GOD the music! I still, to this day, hum garnet (sarah's) song "Melodies of life." Please, buy this game now. You will enjoy it and play it through over and over. 10 / 10, ★★★★★, A+ Rating, ★LEGENDARY★ Status

Samus Aran's finest hour in her 16-bit Masterpiece
Ah, the 90's -- the best memories of my childhood lie within the era of Super Nintendo. When I first got this game, I had no clue what to do. I was as confused on this game as I was on Return of Samus for Gameboy. But if you are stubborn like me and continue to mindlessly play games for hours on end, this game will reward you in the end. This game is a part of the legendary 20 and deserves said status. Reasons being: * Game play advancements over the previous installments * Unique and awesome Music * Super intense Boss fights * Ability to combine weapons to unleash super destructive beams on those unsuspecting monsters (Plasma Bombs, Spazer Bombs, Wave and Ice bombs, etc) * New weapons that I never imagined when I first started playing (Power Bomb for example) I won't spoil anything else. But before I close this review, I would like to end it with this: Super Metroid is a game that Anyone and EVERYONE SHOULD PLAY. It’s top notch in all regards and is an INTEGRAL piece of Gaming History and game development DONE RIGHT. 10 / 10, ★★★★★, A+ Rating, ★LEGENDARY★ Status
