Although the kit is metal, one must always be careful not to damage the landing gear because the metal will break if force is applied.
The P-51 Mustang metal landing gear dragon kit SV32061, with some modifications involving the rear wheel, did fit my needs for metal landing gear instead of plastic.

One must take time to assemble the Me 323 Gigant.
The manufacturers, Revell and Italeri, do not have the corresponding numbers on the spures with the instructional pictures. Some of the plastic materials are flimsy and can easily be damaged. Perhaps they can be manufactured with stronger plastics or metal. Otherwise, the Me 323 Gigant is an impressive model airplane once it is assembled. I do not consider the plane durable since a number of the parts are flimsy.
