Tedious
It's very tedious reading.

Too much bang for the buck.
It is *Maybe* a good value. It does what my trusty, out-dated version does. But, it takes a full minute to load, and the learning curve is formidable. Nothing works the way my old version does.
All I want to do with it is improve the sharpness, brightness, and contrast of my jpegs. I don't need all that other stuff.

Good book
I bought the book because I'm interested in protozoology and it has a great chapter on that, with excellent line drawings. The other chapters look good also.
