Without this kit you're screwed!
Bought this kit to get into a MacBook Air and it worked a treat. Also plenty of different screwdrivers and suckers for getting into phones and pulling out screens and batteries etc. Versatile and very reasonably priced little kit.

Revive old DV tapes
17 years ago to get video from my Panasonic Digital Video Camera (NV DS-15) onto my PC I had to buy a £400 plug-in card (Canopus DV Raptor) and do a lot of fiddling about with cables and a remote control. With this Firewire 800 to 400 cable I was able to plug my DVC directly into my Mac Pro Thunderbolt port (via Mac adaptor), fire up Final Cut Pro and import video from my ancient DVC tapes with a couple of mouse clicks! And all controllable from within FCPX, no fiddling with remote controls etc. Highly recommended for anyone needing to use their old DVC to import long lost video footage from their old tapes.
