Really works!
I mostly wear light boots with a sneaker-type sole, which only tend to last me 1-2 years. When the tough rubber outer layer has worn through, the underlying soft, spongy layer goes really fast, and also leaks water. So I’m really glad I found Shoe Goo. I took my two-year old boots, the heels of which were worn well into the soft layer. I first applied a 4-5 thin layers (which was surprisingly easy especially when I used the ice cube trick for smoothing). Having found that the stuff really does seem to stick in place when the boots are in use, I added almost the rest of the 3.7 oz tube of Shoe Goo. The outer edges of the heels are still a bit lower than new, but the boots are now perfectly usable again, and will hopefully be for several months. More important, I'm going to patch new boots before the outer layer wears through. The only drawback is the fumes when you apply a lot of this stuff at once; you really need to air the room if doing it indoors.
