Pi protection
Bought this case to protect my new Raspberry Pi model 3. Looks great and fits beautifully over all the board's components, giving good access to the GPIO pins and other slots. One suggested improvement though might be to add a fourth layer to the under-side in order to cover and protect the exposed base of the circuit board. This would be very easy to do as the supplied 4 screws are just long enough to incorporate an extra plastic sheet raised (with tiny spacers) above the underside of the circuit board with the micro-SDcard on it. It would give the Pi more protection and prevent any short circuits from accidentally placing it on a metallic surface.

Raspberry Pi mania
1 of 2 found this helpful Bought the Model 3 Raspberry Pi to supplement my older Model A+ Pi. Fantastic little computer, much faster than the previous models, and great value for money. If you haven't got one, and you like nerdy computer things, get the latest model, or even a trimmed-down Raspberry Pi Zero. Set up is very easy, even if you need to create a new micro-SD card with the Raspbian OS on it. I used the BerryBoot option to install the new Raspian Jessie OS, as well as OpenElec, so I could install Kodi and use the Pi as a home media centre. Works great, fast streaming depends on your broadband speed though. So get into Linux and start to enjoy computer programming again....

Digital video intercom replacement - things to watch out for.
Great value for money. I used it to replace an old and faulty analogue BFT video intercom, so the old wiring was already in place and useable. Getting the cables from the house to the front porch would be the most labour-intensive task, but connecting up the wires is the easy bit. At first, the electric door release was a bit hit and miss, often requiring the "Sound" button to be pressed first, but not always. For me, the problem turned out to be the electric solenoid door latch release mechanism itself, which is very sensitive to friction or grease on the trigger release arm, and which should be kept dry and grease-free. If you are using this item as a replacement for an out-of-date intercom, you might consider also buying the specified electric door latch, or be prepared to clean and service your old one.
