Collector's piece of hi-fi history
2 of 2 found this helpful This is a piece of hi-fi history. It was manufactured (in west London) almost 50 years ago. In its heyday, Leak was a name to be reckoned with among audiophiles but too expensive for me.Now, on ebay, this amplifier came up for sale at at under £150. It works. It sounds very good. I bought it to match a Leak Trough Line FM tuner also bought recently on ebay (same vintage) and I'm playing them into a pair of 1990s Rogers LS1 speakers. The sound on live Radio 3 broadcasts is almost certainly the best quality I have heard - transparent, detailed, arresting. I'm amazed at how good this is, and after all these years too!
