Better than advertised

Tried and true design
This is a decades old antenna design. The stacked dipoles (the bowties) and the reflector (the screen behind them) result in a directional pattern. You get the strongest signal when you point the bowties, broadside, in the direction of the station you want to receive. Stations "off the back" or "off the ends" will be weaker. Ideally, this antenna should be rotate-able for this reason. But if you can't rotate it, it will pull in moderately strong stations from from other directions with a little trial and error aiming.
This is not an antenna for getting very weak stations from far, far away, but it is a big improvement, even when mounted indoors, over those plastic mat antennas you stick in your window.
Construction quality is very good, and assembly is very easy. All you need is a wrench.
