Sharp enough to shave with.
0 of 1 found this helpful I have bought two of these blocks and built a framework so as they fit loosely over two angled upright steel rods. In the center of these two rods I have built an upright piece of wood with a homemade clamp that grips the knife to be sharpened. When it is set up and a knife in the clamp you turn the diamond blocks so as you have the same grade on each side facing the knife to be sharpened then stroke the blade of the knife first with the left block then with the right block for a dozen strokes. Then turn the face of each block to the next finer face and repeat finally finishing with the finest face and you will find you can shave with the finished blade. If you sharpen your kitchen knives this way tell your other half as she is bound to cut herself being used to blunt knives and suddenly finding them razor sharp.
A most excellent product these diamond sharpening blocks now I just have to invent another gadget to sharpen my chisels and planes.
