Portable with great action and realistic piano sounds
After trading in my Kurzweil SP 6 88 key and already owning an older Kurzweil PC3X, I wanted something more portable. The Korg Grandstage 73 did not disappoint. The action can definitely support my classical music as well as my blues and worship music when I do have to hit the keyboard a bit harder. I did have to tweak some of the piano sounds as some sounded like a toy piano, but overall I am happy with the piano sounds and the ability to layer and split sounds. The Clav is ok. The organ is ok. But since I primarily purchased for the piano and strings sounds, I am very pleased. That’s why I continue to hold on to my old Kurzweil, I have yet to find a keyboard with voice banks that take me back to the late 70s/early 80s. The 73 key Korg weighs about 36 pounds which isn’t bad for weighted hammer action keys.
