It's all that Bluair claims. Maybe a bit more.
Manual fan setting (via touch control) lets me run it non-stop on high when I'm out during the day. No best-guess by the filter as to whether filtering is needed or not. Filtered air flow is huge, but keep it 4-5" from the walls so you get flow into all four sides. Blue+black prefilter is like a very stretchy 1970's tube top so a little tricky to slide on, but do it anyway and in a week it'll be obvious why that's a good idea. A little noisier on high than I expected, so I run it at medium when watching TV next to it and at low in the BR. (I have two now. They're great.)
