Great Alternative for a Basic Phone
3 of 3 found this helpful These phones are a great solution for people wanting a basic phone without having to renew their contracts. We are out of contract and Verizon wanted $79 for this same phone after a $50 rebate if I renewed with a two year commitment, AND they wanted to charge me a $40 upgrade fee. Even if these phones were free from Verizon, I was still obligated for the $40 upgrade fee, and had to stay with this phone/plan for another two years. I bought this phone to replace my failing Samsung Brightside for about the same price that Verizon wanted to charge me as an upgrade fee, and I didn't have to renew my contract! I'm free to make a change or get a smart phone whenever I want. This phone appears to be brand new and is very similar to the Samsung Brightside. Battery life after first full charge, using it and setting up the phone, as well as leaving it on overnight lasted three full days. At the end of the third day I was down to one bar of battery life so I charged it. People on the other end sound good and they can hear me clearly. Speaker phone works well although at the loudest setting, the sound becomes slightly distorted. Bluetooth connected to our Accord, RAV4 and Cadillac without an issue. I primarily use this phone to call and text. My favorite feature is that when a text comes in, the name or number of the person who sent me the text is a different color than the names of people who's texts I've already read. This feature makes it easy for me to find "unread texts"! I bought three of these phones and so far, the three of us are very pleased with this purchase.

Nostalgic but expensive

Great Alterative to Buying New From Verizon
5 of 9 found this helpful This router is the same one Verizon installed in our home when we went to FIOS. Once we were sure we were going to keep the service for our two year commitment, we decided to purchase our own router/modem rather than continue to rent from Verizon for $10 A month. We called Verizon to buy the modem and we were willing to pay their $150 price, but Verizon made the process difficult. Rather than allowing us to keep the modem they installed a month earlier, we had to surrender our current modem and they'd ship us a replacement. Since I'd have to swap equipment. Set up the new router and have a new network and password, we decided to shop around. Found this one slightly used for a fraction of the price! The modem was plug and play, which was a snap to connect. Didn't have to reconfigure anything and it works great! We have a new network name and password but there is a sticker on the modem which provides that information. So glad we made this purchase!
