From Toy to Model
Although aimed at a much younger audience than me, (I was 50 when I bought it!) this toy is incredibly well made for something that is supposedly designed as a rough and tumble disposable play thing. Whilst not 100% screen accurate its size and general shape is very close to the original making it the ideal base for a super detailing conversion. I purchased it knowing it would be cut up and rebuilt and worked for some time to get the detailing I wanted. Whilst certain parts are molded in and need extensive work this is a great conversion project available at the moment for a fairly reasonable price although I can see that changing as supplies run out.

Something to sink your teeth into
Lust for a Vampire was one of the few Hammer Horrors I had never seen, and although I own Vampire Lovers on Blu-ray I purchased this set to see the second feature.
Firstly the picture quality and sound are very good for a DVD release and the prints of the films are clean and vibrant.
These two films represent the main period where Hammer lost its almost innocent naivety and went for all out flesh on show. Most of it is wholly gratuitous and in fact had there not been the (pretty needless) semi nudity it would not have made much difference.
However, it is a rather entertaining entry into the canon and I actually preferred it to Vampire Lovers.
These films are of there time and are pretty tame really, but they do harken back to a time when the British film industry was turning out films regularly as an industry and not a gimmick.
