  Hi Laura, So happy to see a good home for the ashtray. Love to hear of a teen who has an interest in ships. A good friend of mine's father who retired from the Coast Guard was on the detachment that guarded the S.S. Normandie when the U.S. government seized the ship at the beginning of WWII. While posted he took the ashtray and a cup. His Estate gave me the articles. His name was Chief Harwood. He also witnessed the crash of the Hindenburg and investigated the crash of the airship Akron
