new Booster high voltage generator plasma music arc speaker ZVS Tesla coil kit
17 Feb, 2017
Works fine with a few tweaks - best for experienced kit builders
This comes with no instructions but the component values are on the silkscreen. I built mine without a resistor for R8 or a diode for D2, which are also not shown installed in the pictures of the bottom of the board. I accidentally used a 10nF cap in place of the 10U cap, which I later replaced with an included 10uF cap. Though I had a nice plasma arc, I could no hear any audio from my mp3 player. R8 is a biasing resistor for for the common collector audio input amplifier and after doing some reading up and calculations, I installed a 56K resistor (not included) for R8 and replaced the 10nF cap with the correct 10uF cap and then I got audio from the arc. I found that by adjusting the input voltage to the ZVS board that I could get clearer and louder audio as well as less heat dissipation from the power FET on the heatsink. I start the arc with ~12v and then reduce the voltage for the best sound. For me it was ~7v at ~2.5A. Arc length variations required tweaking the input voltage for best sound. I installed the included diode at D2 with no noticeable change. I built a second kit but it didn't work. It had been supplied with a PNP power transistor instead of a FET. When I powered it up it failed to work and I blew both of the Y1 SMD NPN transistors that drive the FET. Check every part before installing it!

DIY Kit FFT 8x8 Audio Indicator Green FFT Voice Frequency Control LED Precise AL
28 Mar, 2017
Works well but documentation leaves much to be desired. LED Install Instructions Here.
I am use to hand soldering SMT components so assembling this kit was not a problem. However, I was not able to find which way to install the LED's. I installed all 63, the kit was missing 1 LED, only to find I had put them all in backwards. They still lit up but the FFT display did not work right. So I unsoldered all 63 and put them back the right way around. The green, cathode, end of all the LED’s must face towards the pushbutton end of the board for this unit to work correctly!

Exact Replacement
The spring broke in our washer with a loud BANG! and this P/N was the replacement. Installed it, everything looks good and the washer works well again.
