The author loves his subject, and what is not to love, for perhaps the greatest jazz improvisor.
Charlie Parker was a far more complex musician than I had credited him for being. This book goes into an analysis that is normally reserved for classical composers. There is a lot of material here for what is really a hand-sized book. I think it will keep me occupied for a long time, if not longer.

The best book on the upright bass. Learn how the greats played it.
This is probably the most comprehensive book on the upright bass in Jazz ever published. Hard to see it being surpassed. full of advice, examples, history, and discography. I don't even play any bass but I bought it because it's a great Jazz book.
