WAR OF THE WORLDS DVD
I like this version of War of the Worlds because it follows the original story that H. G. Wells wrote. I decided to buy it because I had seen it once before and decided I wanted it in my collection. I did not like the idea that the Martains were buried in the earth and activated by lightening. Any life-form intelligent enough to cross the voids of space certainly wouldn't be lame enough to bury themselves in the earth and wait for activation. This movie has great special-effects and is loaded with action. Although this movie was good, I still rate the earlier version of War of the Worlds with Gene Berry as the best - for its day and age it was awesome.

CD - INTERNATIONAL SWEETHEARTS OF RHYTHM
I purchased this CD since I remember seeing this band on some program on PBS some time ago, so I knew they were good. I received this CD in Excellent Condition. The tracks from this album were recorded from the radio, so the sound on each track varies, although the quality is excellent. This band, in my opinion, was right up there with Tommy Dorsey and Glenn Miller, and contains preformances by some very talented women. A definite addition to my collection! Thank You, Carmine G. Broadway Melody of 1940 (2003, DVD)
I purchased this DVD because I received an email with an attached clip from this movie. It was Eleanor Powell and Fred Astair tap dancing to Cole Porter's "Begin the Beguine". I just had to see this whole dance, so I ordered this DVD. The DVD I received was crystal clear, with a flawless soundtrack. The whole tap dance of Cole Porter's "Begin the Beguine" was worth the price of the DVD alone. I think I have watched that one dance 10 times since I received this DVD. I have to say that there is absolutely nothing I dislike about this purchase! I consider it a very smart purchase on my part.
