When I put in a cd it will just not play at all and, when it did, it played for a couple seconds and just stopped as it tries to register the cd. Then

When I put in a cd it will just not play at all and, when it did, it played for a couple seconds and just stopped as it tries to register the cd. Then it just turns off after a minute of struggling. I don’t know what else to do to make it actually work and play the cd without shutting off or struggling to read any cd I put in it.
